Brain Smart®
Brain Smart® is the educational framework that underpins Jamma Wellbeing’s work. It is easy to understand, direct, and written in plain language. No clinical terminology. No jargon. Instead, it offers clear, accessible explanations of why the brain sometimes feels like it is working against you, and practical skills to help take back control.
The course introduces the different functions of the brain and how they shape our emotions, our behaviour and our responses to the world around us. It challenges the idea that experiencing mental ill-health means something is wrong with you. Because it does not. Every emotion is natural. Every response has a reason. Understanding that is often the first step to changing it.
Brain Smart® has been developed, tested and refined through years of delivery across hugely varying environments: prisons, schools, communities and workplaces. It works because redevelopment of the core training, for each individual environment, is steered by the relevant people, for the relevant people.
“Brain Smart® training helped by giving me a map to follow and by following the process, I can have more helpful and positive outcomes to situations in the future, which will help me and others” Victor Tremmell
